FreeBSD galacticdominator.com 8.0-RC2 FreeBSD 8.0-RC2 #2: Sun Nov 1 19:42:17 CST 2009 adam@galacticdominator.com:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/GENERIC amd64
>Description:
I am unable to burn either dvd's or cd's with a sata atapi drive(ASUS DRW-2014L1T/1.02) when AHCI is enabled in BIOS. Normally, I have atapicam and ahci in /boot/loader.conf, however disabling either one or both doesn't change the outcome. After disabling AHCI in BIOS, I am now able to burn optical media again.

>How-To-Repeat:
Attempt to burn CD/DVD using burncd, cdrecord, or growisofs with their appropriate cli options and /dev while AHCI is enabled in BIOS.
>Fix:
Disable AHCI in BIOS
