I think what really really needs to happen is for us to *merge* the interface for SLIP and PPP outgoing connections since, except for the line discipline used (and the dynamic negotation stuff in ppp), it's kinda the same problem. If we had a decent dialer interface (the BSDI one isn't bad!) then we could treat the SLIP & PPP stuff as a common front-end with differing back ends once the line was opened. Jordan
