Well as I hadn't done much more than a basic install, and having had a little practice already, I decided to risk just switching dma on. No problems whatsoever so it must've been a conflict between 5.2.1 and the desktop ata controller. And Jensen Button's just won pole for tomorrow's F1 at Imola!
