Mozilla has detailed instructions for moving your profile folder to another
machine[1] or making a backup[2]. I suggest you try one of those.

Or try =E2=80=9Cexporting=E2=80=9D it from the old Thunderbird and =E2=80=
=9Cimporting=E2=80=9D it into the new
ones.

It has been my observation that the way Mozilla apps handle data is not
exactly KISS, with copied profiles not working for unclear reasons. Maybe t=
hat's
inevitable, but this is one of the reasons I still prefer old fashioned mbox
files.
