acd0: CD-RW <YAMAHA CRW8824E> at ata1-master PIO4

$ burncd -f /dev/acd0c data conf/conf.iso fixate
next writeable LBA 0
writing from file conf/conf.iso size 114080 KB
written this track 114080 KB (100%) total 114080 KB
fixating CD, please wait..
$ burncd -f /dev/acd0c data conf/conf.iso fixate
burncd: ioctl(CDRIOCNEXTWRITEABLEADDR): Input/output error
$ burncd -f /dev/acd0c data conf/conf.iso fixate
burncd: ioctl(CDRIOCNEXTWRITEABLEADDR): Input/output error

Is there something I'm missing? Do I need to 'wipe' the cd somehow
first? Does fixating forever limit the 'rw'ability of the disk?

TIA,
Andrew
