I do not doubt that you did not intentionally do anything to cause
the tree to get broken. I, too, feel that there is an error in the
Makefile that caused the problem.

However, I will point out that, contrary to prior claims, CTM was not
the program which failed .....

We now return you to your more-difficult-to-fix problems.
