Most jobs involve applications other than word processing.  Only secretaries do
primarily word processing, and even they have other applications they must use.

Does it?  I do exactly this all the time.  No lockups thus far.

University students are in a class by themselves.  Now I understand how you can
get away with dual-boot machines.

Microsoft Word is very widely used.
