            Bug ID: 247625
Summary: Intel 7260 (iwm) will not connect to access point
           Product: Base System
           Version: 12.1-RELEASE
          Hardware: Any
                OS: Any
            Status: New
          Severity: Affects Only Me
          Priority: ---
         Component: wireless
          Assignee: wireless@FreeBSD.org
          Reporter: cwr@sdf.org

Hello,

I have an Intel 7260 wireless card that is failing to connect to my access
point.

I am filing this bug because I was originally trying to get the card workin=
g in
Haiku OS, which pulls its wireless drivers from FreeBSD.

The exact same card has no issues connecting running various flavors of Lin=
ux.
Other devices running a myriad of OS (Linux, Windows, FreeBSD, OpenBSD, iOS,
Android) have no trouble connecting to the same AP/SSID (Ruckus R510, WPA2).

I tested this on FreeBSD 12.1-RELEASE-p6.

Here is what I see in /var/log/messages:

wlan0: Trying to associate with xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx (SSID=3D"xxxx" freq=3D246=
2 MHz)
FT: Invalid group cipher (0)
Failed to add supported operating classes IE
wlan0: Authentication with xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx timed out.
wlan0: CTRL-EVENT-DISCONNECTED bssid=3Dxx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx (SSID=3D"xxxx" fre=
q=3D2462
MHz)
wlan0: Trying to associate with xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx (SSID=3D"xxxx" freq=3D246=
2 MHz)
FT: Invalid key management type (2)
Failed to add supported operating classes IE

This behavior is similar to what occurs in Haiku: the card tries to associa=
te
(multiple times), but fails.

Other users of Haiku OS also have problems with the 7260 working reliably:
https://dev.haiku-os.org/ticket/15420

Thank you!
