I've read the various README's at http://www.freebsd.org/picobsd, but can't discern any significant difference between the content of the different versions of picoBSD. eg they all appear to support ppp & NICS, so what gives ?? Some postings to the mailing list archives suggest that one needs all the versions available because "ee" is only on one version, however there are conflicting postings on the issue of firewall support ..... apart from those items there doesn't appear to be anything explicit on what differs. Also, is there a reason why picoBSD development still appears to be concentrated on older versions of FreeBSD instead of something in the 4.x line ??
