Subject: loader(8) crashing in 5.4, 5.3 loader works Dell Poweredge SC1425 nocona

I have a Dell Poweredge SC1425 server. I am
running FreeBSD AMD64.

I have been running 5.3-R on this machine since
Feburary. I decided to go ahead and upgrade
to 5.4.

installkernel - OK
reboot - OK
mergemaster -p OK
installworld - OK
mergemaster - OK...
reboot again

CRASH... loader crashes with BTX Halted and
instant reboot. Cannot read register
dump because it disappears too fast.

If I intercept boot with the spacebar right
after hitting F1, and type in /boot/loader.old
to get the 5.3 loader.... it works.

I have since cvsupped to 5.4-p6 and rebuilt,
with the same results - loader crashes.

The system is working with the 5.3 loader copied
over to /boot/loader. I would like to not
have to worry about this the next time I
upgrade.

Ideas appreciated.
