Hi All,

I installed FreeBSD version 4.2 on my system and my disk drive =
"thrashes" to the degradation of all system performance (e.g. it takes =
4-5 seconds to start "vi" of a simple text file). When I backed off and =
reinstalled FreeBSD version 4.1, the problem went away. Does anybody =
have any ideas on what is going on here? I would really like to =
understand this little annoyance.

Cheers,

   Jim Long
