Wish I was so lucky... <mutter mutter> ;-)

Someone said to run '/sbin/sysinstall' as if you were going to install a
fresh copy of FreeBSD to the new drive, but when it gets to that part,
stop (i.e. terminate) it. I tried this and it worked. Then use tar,
cpio, pax, whatever, to move the stuff onto the new partitions.

That is a pain. Cables ARE available that have more than 2 drive
connectors. I just don't see why SCSI card manufacturers don't include
them by default -- with only 2 connectors available, what's the point in
getting SCSI vs IDE or whatnot??! Anyway, check with some of the big
cable manufactuers -- a friend got theirs from "Roger's Specialists" (I
think), a company here in southern CA (but they do nationwide mail-order
I think -- check the 800 directory). I didn't know that they existed, so
I did mine the "old fashioned way" -- I actually MADE mine. (what a pain
that was! But I'll save that for another story). If you can't find any
companies who have these, then I'll be happy to make you a cable, I can
even make them with >3 connectors on them (hey, plan for the future).
Just let me know.

PS: Check your area for "Computer Shows" -- these are excellent methods
of gettings lots of computer hardware for good prices, and you can
usually find oddball/obscure stuff like 3-headed SCSI cables at these
places, better than you can at retail stores. (don't even try retail
stores, they'll just stare at you and go "Huh?")
