 This is duplicate of (my) PR kern/6778.  Funny how synchronized people

 I think it should appear as a pt device (or uk if you leave out pt),
 and I know someone here tested scanning with "sane", which is freely
 available software for scanning on linux/*bsd, if I've understood things
 correctly.
