 The distribution from Berkeley works fine. The only changes I
 made were to the Makefiles and to one *.h file to include the
 definitions for select(), fd_set.

 The Makefile changes were to add the FreeBSD CFLAGS and to select
 the correct X things, either libs or includes.

 I notice there are many changes in the patches.

 Since the original distribution works on a nominal FreeBSD installation,
 Why are there so many patches?
