but patching configure looks nicer ;) with modifying CPPFLAGS within the
Makefile, you have during the compile time two
-I/usr/local/include/freetype2 ;)

might be. But sometimes someone might creates a WITHOUT_PERL variable for
this
port which adds --without-perl to the configure arguments... ;) (that
disables the build of perlmagick)
