The following reply was made to PR misc/62687; it has been noted by GNATS. From: Dwight Bonney <bonney@bigpond.net.au> To: freebsd-gnats-submit@FreeBSD.org, kirill@pisman.info Cc: Subject: Re: misc/62687: VIA 694 ata controller: UDMA ICRC ERROR Date: Thu, 27 May 2004 21:18:52 +1000 Hi, I see the same error using 5.2.1 when entering and exiting from X. AMD 2500 Gigabyte GA-7N400 Pro2 m/b, NVidia nForce 2 MCP controller, 512Mb RAM, 80Gb WD800JB HDD (8Mb cache, 7200RPM). Changing Modes has also not assisted, and using Red Hat Linux the problem does not reoccur. Reinstalling FreeBSD works for a short period of time. BIOS set to LBA mode, and does have the same settings as those used to prepare the drive at install. Regards, Dwight BOnney -- Using M2, Opera's revolutionary e-mail client: http://www.opera.com/m2/
