Bruce pointed out that to create all the device nodes for sd0 you would 
be looking at

 32 slices * 8 partitions * block/char = 512 nodes.

Agreed, "./MAKEDEV sd1s1" intuitively should produce the partition 
nodes.  Fixes would be gladly accepted, as long as they preserve the 
current behaviour.
