I agree. I have machines running both FreeBSD and Linux, varying depending on the needs for that machine. Neither one is best for all tasks; they each have their strong an weak points. For me, a Debian-like package manager is very important on many machines. For other machines, it is not important at all. It is all a matter of what you want and what you prefer. I am simply trying to contradict those people that say that either Linux or FreeBSD is dirt, scum, or whatever. Both Debian and FreeBSD are quality systems. Further, I am trying to make the discussion more accurate; Linux distributions vary and it is a mistake in almost every case to compare Linux directly to FreeBSD. One comment I saw here is that "Linux is the Windows of Unix." Well, that probably holds for RedHat but not for Debian.
