Subject:   CVS troubles from behind a firewall

All the cvs servers are refusing connections from a machine I have that is
behind a firewall.  This is so even when I make use of the menu that you get
with

pkg_add -f ftp://ftp.FreeBSD.org/pub/FreeBSD/development/CVSup/cvsupit.tgz

and answer "yes" to the question whether I'm behind a firewall.  Is there a
work-around for this problem?
