I got same reports from different people and couldnt' fix it because my XM3501 works ok with 2 sec and i couldn't figure out what the problem is. Anyway , new version of xmcd (2.0) soon will be out. I wrote a module that allows xmcd to play music on non-SCSI cdrom too. ( xmcd has such a module only for Linux...naaah :-) Also it will have many new features. I'll send may add-on + your patch to the author so he will icorporate them into the release. Regards.
