Joe,

Tehre is a set of scripts called LiveCD, developed by Edson Brandi,
can be finded at /usr/ports/sysutils/livecd do waht you want. This
project is maintened by Brazillian FreeBSD Users Group
(www.fugspbr.org).

A devrivated project is the FreeSBIE at www.freesbie.org. Some
improvements are done by FreeSBIE, but, for me, both are usable.

Best regards,

Luiz Maia
