Specifically, try 'camcontrol rescan 0:1:0' and see what, if anything, is printed. Boot with -v and watch the SCSI probe phase (late in the kernel boot cycle) for anything that mentions 0:1:0. -- ... every activity meets with opposition, everyone who acts has his rivals and unfortunately opponents also.
