Er, no. vm86 support initially will let us run MS-DOS programs at close to full speed. For some people, this would be a Very Good Thing. The context in which it was being raised here was that of providing BIOS access from the kernel, with the specific intent of providing a catchall disk device driver that could be used to bootstrap the system with on arbitrary hardware without having to have every imaginable disk driver in the kernel. It may not be your idea of fun; I wasn't asking you do anything about it anyway 8) > Poul-Henning Kamp | phk@FreeBSD.ORG FreeBSD Core-team. -- ]] Mike Smith, Software Engineer msmith@gsoft.com.au [[ ]] Genesis Software genesis@gsoft.com.au [[ ]] High-speed data acquisition and (GSM mobile) 0411-222-496 [[ ]] realtime instrument control.
