There's a port for 4.17 sitting in the PR system, if you want to try
it.  It's also at:

  ftp://ftp.pcnet.com/users/eischen/FreeBSD/gdb-4.17-port.tar.gz

It includes patches for all the FreeBSD changes to 4.16 that I could
find.
