I back up the Palm's contents to FreeBSD, and I install Palm software
from the web using FreeBSD. These tasks are trivial with pilot-xfer
from the pilot-link port.

I've never found a Unix dayplanner that I like, so I don't have anything
on my workstation that I'd like to synchronize with the Palm, so I
don't know what your options are there.
