Subject:   Strange ifconfig behaviour!

Can anyone explain this?

What follows are two snapshots of my ifconfig -a output taken a few 
minutes apart.  You'll notice that less tun devices are displayed when 
more slip connections are active!

Any ideas!?

The system is 2.1.0-950726-SNAP.
