I let the server run memtest86 for most of the last weekend - it got through 37 loops of its extended test sequence over ~45 hours of testing. No errors were reported, so I guess the hardware is clean. The CVS developers want me to try a newer version of the CVS server. They've seen this bug in a few other places but I don't think they really know what causes it. I'll see if I can build their latest relase (without the FreeBSD extensions) sometime this week, and report back on whatever results I get with it. Scott
