I like Rick Sladkey's strace (I use it on sun and linux).

Since it runs on sun, how hard would it be to port to freebsd?

I don't like the attitude:
If you want to do something, recompile the kernel.

strace is incredibly useful (I've never used ktrace, I've never had a kernel
with support for it...or learned how to use it).

I really find the flexibility of strace very good (the little I read
about ktrace, its much more limited ).

It also has all types of nice ability to filter selective calls.
