The reason i'm asking is because I know that there are Tuxtops out there,
and I know that Tux is the name of the Linux Penguin. So, I was wondering if
there is a similar sort of name for laptops running *BSD. -- Jonathan

Officially he is nameless but Kirk McKusick, the copyright holder of the
image, says that if you must call him something then "Beastie" is the name.
You may often see him called "Chuck" but that is frowned upon by Kirk.

From Kirk's website, http://www.mckusick.com/beastie/index.html

Many folks have asked about the BSD daemon's name. Contrary to a
myth first started by some advertising droid at Walnut Creek, the
daemon's name is NOT Chuck. He is very proud of the fact that he
does not have a name, he is just the BSD daemon. If you insist on a
	name, call him beastie.
