ldd /usr/local/jdk1.5.0/bin/java
/usr/local/jdk1.5.0/bin/java:
libz.so.2 => /lib/libz.so.2 (0x28088000)
libpthread.so.1 => /usr/lib/libpthread.so.1 (0x28098000)
libc.so.5 => /lib/libc.so.5 (0x280bc000)

looks like I need to map libpthread.so.1 - not libpthread.so.2?
