I replaced my remade sendmail.cf file with the default file, and sendmail is working again--unfortunately, though, this prohibits me from setting undefined users' mail from forwarding to root, as I had it set before. Sendmail itself was still running before (I could send, and mail was getting to people who were specified in aliases); it seems to just have been a problem with mail.local not having the ability to swap uids to write to mailboxes. Anyone know why?
