The only problem with newly installed programs under FreeBSD is that the default shell, which is tcsh, uses an internal 'snapshot' of your $PATH and the files in it. This snapshot is created when the shell starts up. If you want to update it 'on the fly', just type 'rehash'. The operating system is not concerned at all. > At 12:45 PM 12.24.2001 -0500, Joe & Fhe Barbish wrote: > >I installed the ports Midnight Commander /usr/ports/misc/mc > >I rebooted and enter mc on the command line and get command not found. > >Them went to http://www.gnome.org/projects/mc/ to look for instructions on > >How to use and there were none. > > > >Anybody know how to start Midnight Commander or where the docs are? > > > > > >To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org > >with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message > > > > > > Best regards, > Jack L.
