 I have to correct  myself. The machine also crashes with Limited, so MAXMEM maybe has nothing to do 
 with my problem.
 
 Anyway, I found a workaround for me, kern.smp.disabled="1" in /boot/loader.conf. Now I can only use 
 one processor, but the machine is stable now.
