Actually, I seriously considered an appropriately modified
version of

MANL!=	echo work/man/manl/*.l work/blas/man/manl/*.l

before deciding against it.  Regardless, ports that have 100+
lines of manpages listed in their Makefile sure start to look
ugly.  :(
