In your ppp.conf   do this

set timeout 0			 # no idle time out, will not disconnect

  I am wondering that why I always connect at 33.6Kbps. Although I use 56K
modem on both client and server.
  Why it seems to be disconnected by server after a short period of ideal
time? How can I set it to stay connected always?
