As I was saying... one incredibly ugly hack I've seen used is
to set the baud rate widely different between the ports, and
then use explicit breaks to synchronize them so you can login.

This relys on the UARTs not making the noise at one baud rate
look like a CR at another...

My money is on the hacked CR-greedy getty, though...
