>Description:
This is not a problem with mixer but instead Compaq uses some special solution f
or the Evo N115
Problem exist on Evo N115 machines on both Linux and *BSD, there is a patch for
the linux kernel and perhaps something simular can be added to via82c686.c?
Linux Patch:
+
+
+
+/*
+ *    Presario700 workaround
+ * for Jack Sense/SPDIF Register misetting causing
+ *    no audible output
+ *    by Santiago Nullo 04/05/2002
+ */
+
+#define AC97_AD1886_JACK_SENSE 0x72
+
+static int ad1886_init(struct ac97_codec * codec)
+{
+    /* from AD1886 Specs */
+    codec->codec_write(codec, AC97_AD1886_JACK_SENSE, 0x0010);
+    return 0;
+}
+

>How-To-Repeat:
Get a Evo N115 and install FreeBSD, the via device is found correctly and the so
ftware works great (mplayer, xmms and so on) but still there isn't any actual s
ound output.
