The network card is fine, i did the install via ftp on the local network. I eventually got the mulita to boot off the disks, I think the first image set was corrupt - so i downloaded them again. That fixed that nicely. I do still get a few data over run errors though. The new problem - once i have installed the OS, is i can't boot it from the SRM console. Typing in : boot dka6 looks at the drive and gives an invalid boot block error. Any suggestions ? I have tried a few bits, but not having an " In Depth" knowledge of the matters, and 2 days later have decided to ask again. -----Original Message----- From: Mike Smith To: Alex Collins Date: 09 February 1999 23:47 Subject: Re: [Newbie] - Getting started - Free BSD - DEC Multia 166 >> Hi There >> >> I have myself an Alpha Multia 166, what I need to know is how to get >> started on the install for FreeBSD - Alpha. >> Multia 166 - 64 MB parity RAM - 4 GB IBM HDD - no CD Rom. >> >> I have the BSD / Alpha on the Network - Anon FTP Server, with the idea >> being to install it via FTP.
