Just as the subject says, GNOME 2.5.0 is finally out, and those with an
adventurous spirit should help with the testing. Information on getting
GNOME 2.5 for FreeBSD can be found at
http://www.marcuscom.com:8080/cgi-bin/cvsweb.cgi. People should also
get the ``marcusmerge'' script from the same URL to help merge the
development ports into the official ports tree. For those of you that
have done this before, you'll want to update your marcusmerge script as
quite a few things have changed. Thanks to a few of users, marcusmerge
also has a man page at http://www.marcuscom.com/marcusmerge.8.html that
should help in configuring the script to do what you want.

Since this is a development release (read: pre-beta), you will find
bugs. Most bugs will probably need to be reported via bug-buddy or
GNOME Bugzilla (http://bugzilla.gnome.org/). However, you may also copy
the list, as some may very well be FreeBSD-specific. All the general
pointers on GNOME 2.5 can be found at http://www.gnome.org/start/2.5/.=20
As with any new GNOME release, those of you with some creative juices
should cook up and send cool screenshots for posting on the FreeBSD
GNOME site.

Shouts out to adamw, bland, pav, Jeremy Messenger <mezz7@cox.net>,
Khairil Yusof <kaeru@pd.jaring.my>, Franz Klammer
<klammer@webonaut.com>, and Koop Mast <einekoai@chello.nl> for help on
this release.
