Well it is an old port, but I used to boot into Darwin quickly and it was
helpful in this regard.  Maybe qemu is more usable now though given it got
a lot of attention in recent years.

This is actually one of my concerns over bulk version updates with simple
build testing, lacking required run-time testing (even better, for some
longer period like days).
