Do you have debugging flagged?

Just for kicks I compiled the kernel config you sent and I got:

peloton: {24} ls -sk kernel 
1552 kernel

Check to make sure you don't have debugging flags (-g) set in
/etc/make.conf.  If that's not it I'm not sure what's going on!
