This might be a fixed vs. variable blocksize problem; this used to bite
me going between SunOS and HP-UX. I know the blocksize is configurable
on Solaris by editing a control file for the SCSI tape driver, I just
don't remember which file.

Any tape experts out there than can help with this on the FreeBSD side?
