I also have Samba up and running. I want to mount a share on the laptop which is running WinXP. When I run the following command: mount_smbfs -N //user@comp-name/share /usr/home/user/laptop or just mount -N //user@comp-name/share /usr/home/user/laptop I receive this error message: mount_smbfs: can not setup kernel iconv table (ISO8859-1:tolower): syserr = Operation not permitted The ~/.nsmbrc file is correctly populated as is the /etc/fstab file. I can make a successful connection if I run the command as root; however, I do not want to do that. Connections via the WinXP laptop work flawlessly as do the connections via the FreeBSD machine if executed with root privileges. -- Carmel carmel_ny@hotmail.com |::::======= |::::======= |=========== |=========== | The all-softening overpowering knell, the dinner bell.
