Not good.  When I play a video, sound file, or stream where the
audio is decoded by mplayer (MP3, AAC, Vorbis) and pause playback,
I get audio noise during the pause.

7.3-STABLE/amd64.
AC3 pass-through over S/PDIF is not affected.

This is suspicious...  Yes, reverting files/patch-volume-per-channel
fixes it.
