Hi folks,

I'm currently trying to tar a directory to the tape device. And I'm
getting the following arror :

Sep 3 12:21:11 hercules /kernel: (sa0:ahc2:0:5:0): . CDB: a 0 0 28 0 0
Sep 3 12:21:11 hercules /kernel: (sa0:ahc2:0:5:0): ABORTED COMMAND
asc:4b,0
Sep 3 12:21:11 hercules /kernel: (sa0:ahc2:0:5:0):
Sep 3 12:21:12 hercules /kernel: (sa0:ahc2:0:5:0): tape is now frozen-
use an OFFLINE, RE WIND or MTEOM command to clear this state.

A dmesg shows :

sa0 at ahc2 bus 0 target 5 lun 0
sa0: <HP C5713A H910> Removable Sequential Access SCSI-2 device
sa0: 20.000MB/s transfers (20.000MHz, offset 15)

ch0 at ahc2 bus 0 target 5 lun 1
ch0: <HP C5713A H910> Removable Changer SCSI-2 device
ch0: 20.000MB/s transfers (20.000MHz, offset 15)
ch0: 6 slots, 1 drive, 0 pickers, 0 portals

mt -status reveals :

The device itself is a HP SureStore DAT40x6i. This is an external unit
with a autoloader. And if anyone knows how to reload tapes into the
device from the autoloader remotely, ie without having to press the
"Load Cartiridge" button on the external panel of the device itself, I
would be much abliged.

I've tried enabling/disabling compression and variable blocksize but I
don't seem to be having any joy. Any ideas? Pointer?

Thanks in advance.
