I don't have specific experience with Libretto's, but I have replaced
the hard drives in many other laptops from Dell, Compaq, Toshiba, IBM,
etc. with off the shelf 2.5" IDE hard drives. CMS and other companies
charge quite a premium for their replacement drives when all they
consist of is the bare hard drive and the carrier to hold it.

If you are upgrading, I generally open up the existing drive carrier and
find out what model of drive is being used, then purchase a similar
drive with the same physical specifications. By doing it yourself, you
can usually save around $150-$200+. Let are then left with a good 2G
bare drive which you can sell on Ebay to save even more money.

If you want to have 2 complete drives, then you need to look around for
companies which will sell the drive carrier. I really have only seen
these for IBMs, but there might be companies with carriers for other
computers. Usually spare parts for IBM, Toshiba, Dell, Compaq are quite
easy to find.

I would be glad to answer any more questions if you want to go
investigate this route.
