Jeremiah,

Try including the line "device miibus" in your kernel config file.  The line
already exists, but you've commented it out.  Simply uncomment the line and
try it again.

I have tried to custom compile my kernel several times today, with equally
poor results.  I have attached the kernel configuration (AMNESIAC) and the
output of the kernel error (kernelerror.txt)
