Could you show the output of "ps axl" that includes any processes
associated with the proxy?  By "zombie", do you mean it has the zombie
flag set, or that it is wedged in some other way?  Note that in UNIX
semantics, 'zombie' specifically means a process that has exited, but
whose parent process has not picked up the exit results, and it sounds
like maybe you mean it has wedged but not exited?=20
