Subject: Network Interface will not stay "up"

I recently installed FreeBSD 2.2.1
on a Pentium 100 and a 3Com 3C905-TX
fast etherlink XL card (using only
10bt). The problem is the network
interface will not "stay online"

I can telnet into the machine on the
network, and my connection will dissappear.

I cannot even ping the machine when
this happens. I go the the console
and ping my workstation from the FreeBSD
machine, everything is fine, and
then I can telnet back in.

Its like I need to jump start the interface
from the console.

Any ideas are appreciated.
