a few days ago i bought a crosslink cat 5e cable 
saying "shielded RJ45 10-100MBPS",
(and it would not do 1 Gigabit transfers after setting it up with 2 1Gigabit
cards between 2 FreeBSD-boxes point-to-point)

..i'd like to know The Truth (TM) now :-)
